Transcribe audio files lightning-fast with OpenAI, Google Gemini or local Whisper. All on your Mac, with drag & drop.
macOS 12+ · Apple Silicon & Intel
Choose between OpenAI (gpt-4o-transcribe), Google Gemini (2.5 Flash/Pro) or local mlx-whisper. Or use all three at once and compare.
Drop your audio files onto the app — mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, flac and more. Multiple files at once, automatically queued.
Long recordings are smartly split at natural pauses — never mid-sentence — and reassembled after transcription. No limits.
Open Settings (⌘,) and enter your OpenAI and/or Gemini API key. For local transcription, the app automatically installs mlx-whisper.
Drag & drop your files or click to browse. The app shows filename, duration and size.
Select a model or choose "All providers at once" to compare results. Click Transcribe and view the result directly in the app.
The transcription is automatically saved as a .txt file next to your audio file. Copy to clipboard or reveal in Finder.
Free to use. You only need an API key for OpenAI or Gemini, or use the free local Whisper mode.

First time opening? macOS may show a warning. Right-click the app → "Open" → "Open" to confirm. You only need to do this once.
No extra installation needed — FFmpeg is automatically downloaded on first use.
Create an account at platform.openai.com, go to API keys and click Create new secret key. Copy the key (starts with sk-) and paste it into the app under Settings (⌘,). You need a small prepaid balance (from $5) — transcription costs about $0.006 per minute of audio, so an hour-long recording costs roughly $0.40.
Sign in with your Google account at Google AI Studio and click Create API key. Paste the key into the app under Settings (⌘,). The Flash models work on the free tier; only the Pro models require a linked billing account.
Yes — pick the local mlx-whisper model. It runs fully offline on your Mac (Apple Silicon), is free, and your audio never leaves your computer. The app installs it automatically via Settings.
